Eagle Soaring RV Park

This weekend we’re in Steamboat Springs for the annual Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park. This event has been a family favorite for several years. This year my parents and cousins from New York are here to enjoy this, one of the biggest summer time events in Steamboat.

We’re staying at the Eagle Soaring RV park, about 10 minutes west of town. The park is set back on the north side of highway 40 up against a small bluff. The roads through the park are gravel and all sites are grass with moderate sized immature trees. The $45/per night rate provides water, electricity and sewer hookups.  There’s no cable TV available and no signals that we could find through the air.  The free WiFi is fast enough but a bit unreliable – they appear to be working out a few kinks in the recently upgraded system.  In addition to RV’s,  this park has a beautiful manicured grassy area complete with fire pit for tent campers. Both Verizon and T-Mobile provide good service.  The small shower house is nothing to write home about.  A single room containing a janitor’s sink, toilet, vanity sink and pay shower make you feel like you are in a broom closet.  With a full compliment of tent campers, these two (men’s & women’s) rooms would be in high demand! Maybe this is a good value for Steamboat, but it’s not a great value compared to other places in the mountain west.
