Our Alley

Our Alley

This weekend we’re in Cheyenne, WY at Frontier Days.  Way back in December when they first announcing the entertainment schedule we booked tickets to see Lady Antebellum.  However, somewhere along the way Hillary Scott became pregnant and Lady A has cancelled most of their summer shows.  In their place we’ll see Alan Jackson along with Randy Houser.

We’re staying at AB Camping, one of our favorite “rv parks” on the south side of Cheyenne. Marc and Jane along with their 3 daughters are great hosts for the park along with running the small onsite BBQ restaurant.  The park is organized into 3 inner rows and 2 outer rows of both electric only and full hookups.  They also have the “south section” with 3 row of full hookups . SITE MAP We’re parked in Y16 and Y17 and have our homes on wheels oriented in a door-to-door fashion.  This center “Y” row is very tight, the space between the RV’s is about bowling alley width, our awning overhangs our friends trailer!  But, this is pretty much as expected for CFD – all hotels and motels were full (at double rates) months ago, and this is a very popular place for both visitors and vendors to the show.  As an added benefit, iust down College Drive about 2 blocks is a transit stop for the $1 shuttle to Frontier Park.  Perfect for avoiding the $20 parking lot and reliable transportation after a late night at a concert or the famous Buckin’ A Saloon!

Facilities are tip-top, clean shower house, tasty BBQ restaurant (or call for delivery) propane, stand alone dump and water fill plus several grassy areas for tent sites some even with electricity.  For next year, better, less tight sites would be any in the ‘G’ row (4-16 appear to be for long-term residents) or any in the ‘S’ rows in the south section.

Thanks Jane and Marc – see you next year!
