Mission RV Park, El Paso, TX

14 03 2014

Our planned stop at Hueco Tanks State Park won’t happen this year.  With West Texas Spring Breakers still out in force, the campground of only 16 sites is full on this Friday night.  Our backup is Mission RV Park, a fairly well rated park on the east side of El Paso.  As it turns out, this once suburban park has turned into an urban park with a massive interchange for I-10 and the 375 loop under construction right next door.  Plus, the tree lined parkways that are advertised on the website are apparently reserved for long-term residents.  Instead, we’re parked in D11, one of two dusty rows of RVs right next to I-10.  This will be a very short, noisy night.  We did manage to find a great truck wash, complete with hand cleaning for only $15.00.  We’ll depart as soon as possible in the morning, with a nice clean truck and in search of a more quiet spot.  More from West Texas tomorrow…
